Although not stated on his business card, Finn is, in his own words, not just a CEO. He is a Technician, with a capital C and with 30 years of experience.
Finn is driven by his personal and professional development, and his time working as a machine engineer at A.P Møller has definitely been key to his success.
Along with his CEO colleague Palle Pedersen, he has used his technical expertise to create a well-established company. Finn is the Danish connection to Swagelok in Cleveland, USA. Denmark is greatly recognised for their work in the Danish market.
“I am without a doubt more hands on than most CEOs. I simply cannot help myself because I love working on technical projects and making them work in everyday life. My drive is to create the right solutions for our customers by using our quality parts in the best way possible. Making our customers succeed with their business is what it is all about to me”.
His technical interest is in fact an interest in making things work and develop into something greater both in terms of the company and his employees.
“Customer focus is our drive. We need to be the ones to develop and deliver the exact products and services which our customers need. We deliver the best quality at the best price considering durability and functionality. It is my job to make sure that our customers get the guidance that offer the correct solution for their needs, and not just the most expensive solution. Always focus on the right solution”.
Finn cares for quality and is not satisfied with mediocrity. That is why Swagelok´s core values such as quality and respect are key to him, both personally and in his work life. With such a strong dedication and customer focus it can be hard to understand how he can also manage a company - but he can. Finn is just as dedicated when working with business intelligence and overall business strategies. When asking him what he enjoys doing in his spare time, the answer is: The company, the customers, our employees and, of course, spending time with his family and grandchildren.
